In Memoriam – Captain Dennis Dyckman

Captain Dennis Vincent Dyckman, USNR (Ret) passed on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at his home in Shermans Dale, PA. He was 80 years old. Compatriot Dyckman was an exemplary and highly valued member of the Washingtonburg Chapter; he served on our color guard and was very active in chapter functions. In addition to being a cherished member of our chapter he also served our Nation as a submarine captain; he was the epitome of what it means to be a great American.

Washingtonburg Chapter Displays at the Army Expo ‘24

Stop by our booth! The Washingtonburg Chapter, SAR is present this weekend at this year’s Army Expo ‘24 at the United States Army Heritage and Education Center. Come visit us today or tomorrow (September 14th and 15th) between 9 A.M. and 5 P.M. each day. Past President Dale Leppard and President Jeff La Marca are present. Several Chapter members have already stopped by.

Our goal is to sponsor 100 wreaths to cover all veterans’ graves in the Lower, the Upper, and the Modern Cemeteries. For every 2 wreaths that are sponsored, we receive a 3rd free wreath. All wreaths that we sponsor above 100 will be donated to other Wreaths Across America locations, like Spring Hill Cemetery or Locust Grove Cemeteries across town.
