Celebration of America’s 250th birthday was kicked off in Howe Township, Perry County, on April 19, 2026. Community organizations and schools, including the Washingtonburg Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, were in attendance. Compatriot Dale Beaver served as the event director and noted the importance of the event to “demonstrate and foster Americanism in our youth”.

HTVRC America 250th Celebration
The Hampden Township Veterans Recognition Committee (HTVRC) hosted The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and The Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) at the Hampden Township Veterans Park on Saturday, April 11th, 2026. This ceremony welcomed community members to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Harris Ferry and Washingtonburg chapters provided a color guard, with compatriots Jacob Lemon, Dale Leppard, Steve Troutman, Gary Coburn, Raymond Scarazzo, Scott Siguenza, Dale Beaver, Jeff Patton, Dennis Dyckman, and Jeremy Winn, in attendance. A short history lesson of the events of 1776 was presented by Gary Coburn and Vice Admiral Keith Lippert (USN RET). Following this, DAR and SAR representatives, including our own Dale Leppard, provided information about upcoming programs and events that will take place to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.
