Washingtonburg Chapter Meeting: Sept. 30, 2023

Our 3rd Quarter Chapter Meeting will be 30 September 2023 from 1100-1400 at the United States Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) at Carlisle PA. An optional lunch will be catered by Panera. Those wishing to purchase the lunch should bring $10.
Mr. Douglas R. Cubbison, Historian and Museum Curator at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center, U.S. Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, will present a lecture on the 1758 Forbes Campaign, based upon his 2010 history, The British Defeat of the French in Pennsylvania, 1758: A Military History of the Forbes Campaign Against Fort Duquesne (McFarland Press) and his 2015 history On Campaign Against Fort Duquesne: The Braddock and Forbes Expeditions, 1755-1758, through the Experiences of Quartermaster Sir John St. Clair (McFarland Press). Mr. Cubbison will particularly emphasize the location of the Forbes Encampment in Carlisle from which the Forbes Campaign actually started.
Doug has also submitted his application to SAR and will hopefully be approved by the end of the year.
